Pardo 43: Exterior Upgrades, New Hull Windows and IPS or Triple-Outboard Propulsion

Evolution of an Icon: Design and Exterior Enhancements

Pardo Yachts presents the new Pardo 43, an evolution of the model introduced in 2017 that became the company’s bestseller with more than 300 hulls sold. Rather than a complete redesign, this version applies targeted refinements driven by owner feedback and by Cantiere del Pardo’s continuing development program, preserving the model’s defining walkaround concept while improving day-to-day usability, onboard comfort, and seakeeping.

Exterior development was led by a collaboration between Zuccheri Yacht Design (naval architecture and exterior) and Nauta Design (exterior details and first-time interior contribution). The new Pardo 43 gains hull windows for increased below-deck light, a lowered sheer for a sportier silhouette, and refined hull geometry that smooths waterflow while reinforcing the boat’s recognizable profile. Air intakes have been repositioned externally and integrated into the topside “swoosh,” a small but deliberate change that improves ventilation without altering the visual line.

Deck ergonomics and aesthetics were reworked to improve onboard circulation and utility. The T-top has been updated (carbon fibre construction retained) and its structural supports are bonded to a tempered glass windshield to increase rigidity and streamline appearance. Sunpads have been redesigned fore and aft — including a new bow-facing bench and a deeper stern pad with a spoiler-like contour inspired by the GT52 model — while invisible side-step hardware, bulwark storage pockets and a retractable sliding hatch keep the deck uncluttered and functional.

Comfort, Performance and Propulsion Options Explained

The helm has a completely new layout with a bespoke yacht automation interface developed with Garmin for enhanced system integration and simplified operation. Climate control has been expanded throughout the boat; Dometic air conditioning now serves the cockpit, main cabin and bathroom. Optional stabilisation is available via Seakeeper or Quick units, and Starlink satellite connectivity is offered to support reliable internet offshore.

For the first time the Pardo 43 offers distinct propulsion pathways tailored to owner priorities: Volvo Penta IPS drives (standard IPS500; optional IPS600 and IPS650) or a triple-outboard configuration with Mercury V10 3×400 as the base outboard option and Mercury V12 3×600 as an upgrade. Each propulsion choice is matched to a dedicated hull variant to optimise handling and efficiency for that setup. Fuel and freshwater volumes have been increased to extend cruising range and autonomy without frequent refuelling or reprovisioning.

Interior Layouts, Amenities and Practical Innovations

Nauta Design reinterpreted the interior with cleaner lines and more usable volume. Two layout choices are offered: an aft twin-cabin arrangement with a forward fixed V-berth and ensuite, or a forward dinette that converts into a double berth for flexible guest arrangements. Interior refinements include additional fabric ceiling panels to reduce visible structure, upgraded window shades, new wood finishes, ambient lighting, and integrated storage niches; the aft cabins now benefit from an extra 80 mm of headroom, and a 32″ TV is available for below-deck entertainment.

Practical fittings reflect contemporary cruising needs: an automatic bathing ladder, solar panels for auxiliary charging, an extended windscreen for improved side protection, a longer boarding ladder, enhanced anchor-bow functionality and upgraded underwater lighting for night use. Construction methods and reinforcements remain consistent with the original 43: vinylester resin infusion, foam sandwich laminates in deck and topsides, with carbon reinforcement where required — maintaining structural integrity and weight control while supporting the new features.

The new Pardo 43 preserves the original model’s strengths while introducing measured improvements in layout, systems and propulsion flexibility. Designed and built by Cantiere del Pardo with naval architecture by Zuccheri Yacht Design and interior design by Nauta Design, the yacht targets owners who value practical onboard living and precise engineering.
