Jim Carro, Yacht Broker at Flagler Yachts
James grew up surrounded by water on Thomas Point peninsula in historic Annapolis, Maryland. It was here where he began his life on the sea. The first boat he purchased at the tender age of 14 was a used 13' Boston Whaler with a Mercury outboard. Summers spent cruising and crabbing up and down the Chesapeake Bay and secondary waterways sealed his love for the water. James entered the U.S. Navy in 1985 and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz where he specialized in Damage Control Readiness. After multiple deployments and tens of thousands of miles across the world's oceans, James was honorably discharged in 1989 and immediately relocated to South Florida to begin his career in yachting.
James quickly began working for a Midwestern family and captained many luxury yachts ranging from a 60' Hatteras Sportfish, 61' Viking, 76' Horizon to a 116' Tri-deck Hatteras motor yacht. James captained and cruised extensively for the family for 20 years and has safely navigated throughout the Bahamas, Florida and up the eastern seaboard all the way to Canada. James combines his extensive knowledge of yacht functionality, maintenance and usability to find the most cost-effective and appropriate vessel for future owners. His honesty and professionalism makes future owners feel at ease and completely confident the vessel they purchase is the right one. James' relationship with owners does not stop at closing, his knowledgeable service extends for years following a purchase.
James has four beautiful women in his life: His wife, Cathy and daughters Caitlyn, Kimberly and Claudia. They all share James' love for the water.
